Artist Bio
Stacey Sharpe is a visual artist from the Lake of the Ozarks who now lives in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She earned a BA in Studio Art from the University of Missouri- Kansas City in May 2017. Her multimedia work includes sculpture, fibers, painting, and found object assemblage. Themes explored in Sharpe’s work include environmental awareness and advocacy, geometric patterns in nature, Native American culture, and inconsistencies between the appearance and reality of human social behavior.
Stacey’s work has been included in juried student art exhibitions at the University of Central Missouri Art Gallery (2017) and UMKC Gallery of Art (2015, 2016, and 2017). She helped conceptualize, organize, and curate a pop-up group exhibition (May 2017) in downtown Kansas City, where she installed her first work of public art. She has since pursued her passion for public art through various projects and installations, including an explorative project using recycled vinyl banners, funded by an ArtsKC Inspiration Grant (2018).
